In order to improve the internationalized graduate programs, encourage innovative thinking of the graduate students, and train high-quality personnel with global vision, the Academy of Medical Sciences of Zhengzhou University (AMS-ZZU), supported by Graduate School, is to organize 2019 ZZU International Graduate Summer School: the Neuroscience Section. This section is held from July 8th to July 14th, 2019, at the 2nd floor Auditorium of the School of Basic medical Sciences. The excellent professors at home and abroad are invited; English is the working language. We try to present world-wide great theoretic progress and advanced techniques in neuroscience to current and potential graduates, and to some young staff as well. Moreover, we expect to intrigue the scientific enthusiasm, to induce the innovation, and to enhance the academic communication of all the attendance.
This project will be open to students major in medicine or relevant subjects. Graduates from ZZU or other university, and excellent undergraduates who are planning further education in ZZU can apply. All lectures and discussions are in English. Applicants who meet the following criteria will be given priorities---CET 6 qualified; IELTS ≥6.0, TOEFL≥85, etc.
This section provides 80 standard seats, 60 for graduates (either from ZZU or from other institutes), and 20 for undergraduates. All the 80 students are required a full-time attendance to the topic presentation, discussion, and experiment techniques demonstration. Certificate of Summer School will be issued by ZZU after assessment. There are also some flexible seats, permitting part-time attendance, or used when the standard ones are full. These seats are given only to topic presentation and discussion, not to experiment techniques demonstration. Students using these seats are not awarded the Certificate.

4 experts of neuroscience are invited:
（1）胡能伟爱尔兰三一大学高级研究员，目前受聘为郑州大学学科特聘教授；学习与记忆领域知名专家。
Professor Neng-Wei Hu, is Senior Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin. His research results have been published in high-impact, international peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Communications, PNAS, Brain, and Cell Reports, etc. as senior or first author. He focuses on the fundamental neuroscience of memory, in particular the mechanisms of synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity in the central nervous system under physiological conditions and in neurological models. He is now an invited professor in our university.

Professor Christian Holscher, is professor of Biomedical and life science in Lancaster University of UK. His research is focused on neurophysiological and pathophysiological processes in the brain, and to analyse the neurodegenerative mechanisms that underlie progressive neurodegnerative diseases. One of the main research topics is on the recently described connection between type 2 diabetes and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. He is now invited full time professor in some university in China.

Professor Ole Andreassen, is professor of Institute of Psychiatry in Oslo University, and Psychiatrist in OUH, Norway. He focuses on Psychiatric genetics, brain imaging and genetics, somatic health and immunological factors in severe mental disorders, clinical pharmacology and pharmacogenetics. He is now invited to co-supervise doctoral students with our institute.

Professor Xian-Guo Liu，is professor in Sun Yat-sen University, director of pain research center of Sun Yat-sen University, vice chairman of pain medicine of Chinese Medical Association, and editor-in-chief of molecular pain (Chinese version). He focuses on the central and peripheral mechanisms of chronic pain. His research got supported by National Science Foundation of China as the Key or Great projects.

We provide financial support for your meals during the period of summer school (According to the personal information, you get the meals expanse reimbursed per capita). Transportation and living costs (if there were some) should be paid by yourself.
